Maria is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish (native), French, English and probably some other language I am forgetting to list here. She is polished, smart and speaks fast, always with a smile.

We had our initial consultation over coffee, where she told me about her recent move back to the U.S. (she was living in Portugal with her husband and two kids), her new company (Trip4Care) and the things we have in common: being latinas, we quickly relate on family stories, love for food and warm weather. We talked for a couple of hours and really hit it off.

On the day of our session, I arrived in Eden Prairie after a good drive south through a rainstorm. She helped me carry everything inside her newly-built and spacious home, where I scouted and picked the living room to setup my studio.

I met her youngest, Lara, who is full of life, and talks with passion. Lara told me about school, friends, instagram and all her hobbies, which includes dancing (just like my nieces). She gladly stepped into the role of Laine's little helper (a.k.a my assistant).

Maria's hair and makeup were perfectly done by a professional of her choice, so we went over wardrobe options, jewelry, and accessories, deciding on 3 outfits that were classy and timeless.

Her smile is contagious and lights up all the photos. While editing the images, I could not help but smile as well. Check them out:
