Stylish Headshot Session with Sandy in Victoria

I love how my clients open their homes to me. I enter their closets, meet their spouses, pet their dogs and cats and end up photographing their children, who I always "hire" as assistants when I am photographing. It's plain awesome. :)

My session with Sandy took place in her beautifully decorated home. I felt like I stepped into a page of a design magazine. The coordinated colors, the accent furniture and the ambiance come together to showcase her personality: Sandy is open, confident and full of style, just like her home.

When I arrived, her hair and makeup were impeccable, thanks to the talented Sarah Elizabeth. Sandy had her outfit choices laid out for me to pick from, and we talked a little bit about her company, so I could understand the kind of image that relates to her audience.

I learned that Sandy runs her presentation design company (Presentation Wiz) since 2001, and that she has earned an MVP (Most Valuable Professional) Award from Microsoft for several consecutive years. (Side note: There are only 9 people in the U.S. who currently hold this status and Sandy is one of them!)

Sandy told me how she got started and that the way she presented and carried herself made her stand out and get established as competent, professional and talented. I have to agree with that.

Here you can see how I created a session to match Sandy's needs. She will be using these images in her website and social media profiles.

This last shot is one of my favorites. As we were standing outside, with me perched up on my step stool, Sandy's husband Jeff walks by while tending to the yard. He did something funny just for her. I don't know what it was, but it made her laugh and then open up a big smile, which is what I captured. She then told me he always makes her smile. <3 How sweet is that?

Thank you for having me in your home for your photos. You are such a kind spirit and I am glad we have met. Also thank you for keeping my step stool for weeks! (I had forgotten it at her house and finally picked it up yesterday.)
