Nancy's Head Shots - Laine Torres PhotographyI rang the bell of this beautiful house in Elko, MN, to be greeted with a huge smile by Nancy. She has on a blue top that makes her eyes sparkle. "Through the garage?" she says, after we say hello and shake hands (mine cold from the short walk from the car to her front door). "Yeah, I have a lot of equipment" I say, not knowing I wouldn't need half of it. Saturday mornings are extra special when they're filled with sunshine like this, and Nancy's house has windows all around, letting it in. The view of the golf course is stunning. I did not need my extra lighting, much less all my backdrops. There's tons of space and possibilities. 
We met through some mutual connections and talked briefly over the phone the day before. I could tell she was confident and full of life, but didn't know much else about her. We did some math on the distance, to which she said mileage would not matter. And so it was all set as I headed south for what seemed like a long way. All worth it: our little 20min session turned into a 2h conversation with stories, laughs, photos and the feeling you get when you like someone at first glance.
Nancy is beautiful and very warm, like the sunshine we were kissed by this Saturday, and it was my utter pleasure to be invited into her home to photograph her joyful smile. It was great to meet you, Nancy!
